Unije - a unique islandAn island with a coastal village of the same name in Kvarner, northwest of Lošinj, with an area of 16.77 km² and 90 inhabitants, is one of the westernmost Adriatic islands in the chain of small islands that are located in the open sea: Zeča, Srakane, Susak.
The island is covered with mountains (Kalk, 138 m high, is the highest peak) of limestone. To the north-west towards the open sea there is a steep coast (Vele and Male Stijene), while to the south-west there is a small peninsula Polje, with fertile land and a source of drinking water. The rest of the island is mostly covered with macchia and neglected or cultivated land (mostly olive groves).
Today Unije is an island that offers perfectly preserved pure nature. Due to its position on the open sea, the sea that surrounds it is of extraordinary purity. In addition to the local population, the island is becoming more and more populated by those who fall in love with its magnificent beauty.

DAY TRIP TO DISCOVER THE NATIONAL PARK OK 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐈 :november - april
14 islands scattered along a stretch of sea of a few square kilometers: not much? Not if we're talking about the Brioni Islands (in Croatian Brijuni), an archipelago northwest of Pula that can rightly be considered one of the most VIP reasons in Croatia thanks to their illustrious past. Inhabited since ancient times, in 1893 they were purchased by the rich Austrian industrialist Paul Kupelwieser with the intent - perfectly successful - of transforming this uncultivated spot into a luxury holiday resort for aristocrats and celebrities. In 1930 the property passed to the Italian state, which then ceded it to Yugoslavia in 1945. Tito made it his summer residence, and it was precisely in these years that the islands saw a regular frequentation of actors and heads of state as guests of the Yugoslavian president. In 1983 the islands became a national park and the hotels once reserved for celebrities welcome tourists eager to treat themselves to a fairytale stay. The Brijuni Islands National Park is truly an attraction not to be missed: a place of peace and luxury at the same time, where in a single day you can experience the splendor of imperial courts and the serenity of nature. Unforgettable walks, visits to ancient ruins, the old of the rich and plenty of relaxation on the beach await you.
