Unije - a unique islandAn island with a coastal village of the same name in Kvarner, northwest of Lošinj, with an area of ​​16.77 km² and 90 inhabitants, is one of the westernmost Adriatic islands in the chain of small islands that are located in the open sea: Zeča, Srakane, Susak.

The island is covered with mountains (Kalk, 138 m high, is the highest peak) of limestone. To the north-west towards the open sea there is a steep coast (Vele and Male Stijene), while to the south-west there is a small peninsula Polje, with fertile land and a source of drinking water. The rest of the island is mostly covered with macchia and neglected or cultivated land (mostly olive groves).

Today Unije is an island that offers perfectly preserved pure nature. Due to its position on the open sea, the sea that surrounds it is of extraordinary purity. In addition to the local population, the island is becoming more and more populated by those who fall in love with its magnificent beauty.
